Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming console continues to advance and now supports an all new high-definition video player. This new feature is sure to draw more gamers to the already highly popular next generation gaming console.
Also announced by Microsoft is that by the end of this year they plan on delivering software upgrades to enable the Xbox 360 to handle both games and movies in high-definition with resolution as high as 1080p.
Over 100 game titles will be re-launched in the new high-definition format. Some titles include “Lost Planet: Extreme Condition” by Capcom, “Dead or Alive: Xtreme 2” from Tecmo and Microsoft’s “Blue Dragon” to name a few.
So how much will the new player cost? It will retail for $170 and is expected to launch in Japan this November. Microsoft claims the US version will be released before the end of the year.
It will be interesting to see which format will become the fan favorite, either the Blu-Ray by Sony and it’s Playstation 3 console or high-definition for the Xbox 360, but either way it is certain Microsoft will continue to keep pace with any competition it faces.
