The staff at Ubisoft’s Montreal based studio is currently creating a Wii version of the Tom Clancy hit Splinter Cell Double Agent. Ubisoft claims the game will be ready in time for the launch of the Nintendo Wii and is surely expected to be a huge hit.
Tony Key, Vice President of marketing for Ubisoft mentions:
The Splinter Cell franchise has always translated very well across multiple platforms and we are confident that the Wii version will continue the tradition of maximizing the capabilities of each respective video game console platform
The Wii version will include many unique enhancements as Sam Fisher, Splinter Cell’s main character, battles new terrorist threats. The game will also include many key features and new objectives.
Ubisoft Montreal refused to go into great detail, as they are still in the early stages of completion, but did go on to say that they are working on all new controls specifically geared towards Nintendo’s new console.
At this time, it is unknown whether or not the new game will support any online components but there have been no plans up to this point.
Splinter Cell Double Agent for the Nintendo Wii is expected to hit shelves roughly around early or mid November
